Feynman Van — Maroon

Richard Feynman won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1965 for developing a visual language for describing how particles interact at the quantum level. The diagrams he created — lines and squiggles representing electrons, photons, and forces — turned impossibly complex mathematics into pictures physicists could draw on napkins and reason from. He also drove a van. A 1975 Dodge Tradesman Maxivan, painted on the outside with his own Feynman diagrams. Most people who saw it on the road assumed the markings were Native American designs. His wife Gweneth drove it most of the time. Once, at a red light, a motorist asked the woman behind the wheel why she was driving a van covered in strange symbols. She said: "Because my name is Gweneth Feynman." After Richard died in 1988, the van passed to a friend for one dollar — as was Feynman family tradition for used cars.
